So, what’s happening on the writing front:

- Am finished with my first pass on revisions for Totally Sweet Ninja Death Squad and I’m getting ready to start on the second pass.

- I’m 13,600 words into my third first draft of (working title) Sparks and Ashes, an industrial-revolution fantasy set in a world based on turn-of-the-last-century Asia.

Yes, you read that right: my third first draft. I do outline, but sometimes I find that actually writing it out introduces ideas and plots and implications that I never thought of when I was outlining. So — I find that I’ve written myself into a corner, or it would work much better if I completely changed the setup. But my third first draft is going to have to be my very last one, both because I feel like I’ve finally got it right, and because I don’t want to get stuck in a trap of never going forward. Let’s face it — when you’re going through a first draft for the third time, it can start to get boring.
